Our History
Rooted in Faith Since 1790
Shiloh Methodist Church was established in 1790 by members of the Julian family—Hannah Julian, her son Jesse, and his wife Sarah—driven by strong faith and a deeply rooted desire to create a place of worship and fellowship for their family and surrounding community. It wasn’t founded as a memorial to the Julian family, but out of pure hearts seeking to nurture their children and neighbors in the Christian faith.
Over the years, our congregation has worshiped in four different buildings—starting with a humble log structure, followed by simple wooden buildings, and finally arriving at our current sanctuary, built in 1906. Through continued growth and dedication, additions have been made to our facilities, including the brick veneer sanctuary and our Education Building/Fellowship Hall.
Throughout our history, we have been served by approximately 150 pastors, some of whom returned for multiple terms. In 2024, Shiloh joined the Global Methodist Church, reaffirming our commitment to Biblical teaching, the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
As we look ahead, we remain devoted to following God’s leading—trusting that He will continue to work through this body of believers to grow His Kingdom for generations to come.
